Being based in Dover gives me the perfect opportunity to get out as much as time allows to capture the comings and goings of one of the worlds busiest passenger ports. Please find below a collection of my recent photographs which were taken for use on our forum's `Dover Patrol' Board

Please find below a selection of photographs taken from the Langdon Cliffs on the 21st July. There was only time for a few photographs before the typical Summer rain arrived.

Please find below a selection of photographs taken today from the Prince of Wales Pier. Apart from the usual ferry movements there was quiet a lot of activity with the ongoing removal of the `Spanish Prince' wreck and the David Church was busy dredging the outer harbour.

I am currently having a break from work and surprise, surprise the 1st day of that break doesn't see the sunshine and high temperatures of the last couple of weeks, it's grey, humid and raining
Anyway there wasn't that much to see between showers but please find below a selection of pictures taken, my first since March.

I had a spare couple of hours today and I just managed to capture the departure of the `Ostend Spirit' in her hybrid TEF livery via the Western entrance, before her return to the Ostend-Ramsgate route. I also observed the arrival of the reefer vessel `Star First'. Due to an ongoing strike by Seafrance staff none of there vessels were observed today. I apologise for the quality of the pictures but I am afraid the light wasn't great today .

DoverT and myself headed over to the Port of Ramsgate today to observe the `Ostend Spirit' on her second day in service with LD Lines/TEF on the Ostend to Ramsgate service. After a nice lunch we then proceeded back to Dover to observe the Norman Bridge on her afternoon departure to Boulogne. The irony of this day was that within the space of a few days LD Lines had to reshuffle there fleet following an `incident' in Portsmouth with the Norman Arrow. The Ostend Spirit returned to Dover, her place at Ramsgate being taken by the Larkspur and then the Norman Bridge transferred to Portsmouth to operate the Le Havre run with the Cote D'Albatre. It's a good job that LD Lines new partner at Ramsgate were very accommodating by allowing the `Spirit' to return to Dover.

Having had a week off work I have been out a lot with the camera over the last week updating my photo catalogue. Having seen the same ships each day I decided to head out a bit later today to try and something a little different and after a brief call to DoverT I found out the Saga Ruby was departing at 16:00 so I headed off to watch her departure.
Upon arrival I found the Norman Arrow out in the bay having vacated ED 3 for the inbound Cote D'Albatre and awaiting the departure of the Ruby so she could then go back to Cruise Terminal 2.

I usually try and catch at least one cruise ship arrival every year and this year it's a vessel well known in the port of Dover, the Braemar of Fred Olsen Cruises. Although a regular caller in the past, this was her first visit since she was lengthened in Germany last year.

With a beautiful Spring day and a day off from work I headed up to Langdon for a spot of sight seeing. Due to the strong sunshine some of the photographs haven't come out particularly well.
I would also like to say thank you to the very nice Port of Dover Police officer who stopped for a chat earlier today and actually knew of the site and visits it often. Featured in today's update: Maersk Dunkerque, Maersk Dover, Seafrance Rodin, Seafrance Berlioz, Cote D'Albatre, European Seaway and the European Endeavour.
