 | AIS Live
A website for tracking ships via Automated Identification System messages. This site is no longer a live site to non-industry users, information can still be gained but with a delay of at least an hour. Its another sign of the times that it's deemed in our best interest by the powers that be that the information broadcast from AIS shouldn't be in the public domain. An alternative to this is the Shipplotter programme. See below |
 | ShipPlotter
ShipPlotter displays complete information about ships that are within VHF range of your position using the Universal Automatic Identification System (AIS). The program decodes the received digital data and displays it in a variety of formats. There is also the ability to share information over the internet with other users. This is commercial software and requires registration at the price of 25 Euros but it is well worth the money and it's one of the best software purchases I have made. |
